Are the facial features of a Chinese person different to those of a Japanese person?

Yes, and Chinese people tend to have darker skin because the are nearer to India and Mongolia etc.Are the facial features of a Chinese person different to those of a Japanese person?
If you are from one of these countries, you should easily tell, however culture in these countries are so mixed. Chinese want to look like Japanese, Japanese like Koreans etc etc so it gets more and more hard to tell the difference nowadays. One thing to note though, Hollywood seems unable to tell the difference, they cast anyone for any role, Zhang Ziyi to play a Japanese Geisha, Jackie Chan to play a Japanese Karate expert, either they are imperialist and don't care, an Asian is an Asian, or just plain ignorant.

I think the West has a bad reputaion for not caring about different cultures, they think they are all the same. I think if a Chinese person came up to you and said you were from a random country because you are white, I don't think they would like it.Are the facial features of a Chinese person different to those of a Japanese person?
Yes, in general they are different. Especially since China expands so far westward. As you get toward Tibet they have a broader look to their face. If you look to the north west of China you can hardly tell them from people that come from countries made up of the former USSR. East coasters, where the majority of the Chinese polpulation is, tend to look a little more alike to the Japanese. I think that the differences are as subtle as telling the difference between a Frenchman and an Englishman (before the accents and all.)
i heard that chinese usually have more rounded faces and japanese ppl have rly straight eyebrows. lol heres a diagram, its overexaggerated tho

first China is a huge country with a wide array of people.

Japanese tend to have less pronounced features (flatter faces)

Koreans have big heads.

Just wanted to add that my Asian friends can tell the difference really easily (most of the time) they will know if they are Filipino or Thai or Japanese etc. I'm not very good at guessing though.
To be honest with you, I can tell a difference between Korean, Chinese and Japanese just by looking at a person of these countries.
When I was at school some 70 yrs ago I was told that chinese eyes sloped upwards %26amp; japanese downwards

Just goes to show that teachers then were no better than todays
One is Chinese the other is Japanese
Ever so slightly.

Most people would not be able to tell the difference.
I will be killed for saying that at school.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm not sure, they all wok the same to me ;)
Yes they are.
i can tell the difference just by looking O.o
It all depends on whether you have clean windows... and on whether that mark on her chin is sushi or chow mein ;)
