Have you ever tried a home-made facial cleanser or mask?

If so, what is your skin type, what sort of results did you have - and if you recommend it, what is your favorite recipe?

Thank you.Have you ever tried a home-made facial cleanser or mask?
i make an oats and honey face scrub, works well, and you can make plenty and refrigerate it. use it over your whole body if you like, then shower off. also an orange juice and cream mask is good, leave it on for as long as you can stand the smell. honey on it's own is also a good mask, but so sticky! (warm it a little first.)

I have somehow ended up in life with sensitive skin. In my youth I had great skin, few blemishes, olive tone, radiant. 3 babies later and i'm prone to eczema type rashes. so i now use chemical-free stuff as much as possible. but even some of that (like peppermint) can cause a rash.

I also make a spritz from rosewater and some essential oil, usually rosehip + something else. it's fantastic and I keep 1 in the car and 1 in the kitchen and sprit often.Have you ever tried a home-made facial cleanser or mask?
I love to use honey as a face mask. Just smear it on, and then tap your skin lightly with your fingertips all over. That has an exfoliating effect because the honey is so sticky. I leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

I get the occasional pimple, and this is great to help speed up the healing process. My skin is combination, dry in some parts and oily in others. If I'm having a break out I use honey every day. It's a miracle ingredient, especially if your skin is sensitive to scrubbing exfoliants.

A good one for blackheads is to put a couple of slices of tomato over the affected area for a few minutes. The acid in the tomato helps to deep clean the area.

If you're having a dry skin day, try putting straight avocado on your face. It's best if it's cold, out of the fridge. Very refreshing. Or you can rub olive oil into your face, then jump in the shower. The steam helps it to soak into your skin. Rinse off the excess oil, then gently pat your face dry with a towel, and you shouldn't even need moisturiser. The oil has many healing properties and it won't harm the acid mantle that protects your skin.
Banana Mask- servings-2-3

1 banana

1 tsp olive oil

1/4 cup oats

1/2 tsp salt

Mash everything together, and apply to face. Wash off after 5-10 minutes.

Cucumber slices on the eyes make this even better! Best luck!

Sweetie, you look beautiful anyway (saw your pic on Y! Answers' profile) what's the need for a facial...
