What are good facial masks I could use or make at home for myself?

I have acne and would love to use some kind of daily mask that works wonders. I'm not saying it has to work right away but with in a few days at least. Also, if anyone knows any good home remedies to make my face a lot clearer. Please tell me!! I'm about to start a new birth control pill hopefully that will help out too. What are good facial masks I could use or make at home for myself?
Masks:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

You can also make one with mashed up bananas and honey. If you want to exfoliate your skin, put baking soda/sugar/ or salt in.

Some ways to get rid of acne:

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON鈥楾 EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored.

Aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water.

Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. What are good facial masks I could use or make at home for myself?
i LOVE Quene Helene's line.

especially the mint julep mask. AND..it's SO cheap.

like, 3 dollars at walgreens!

it also works as a great overnight spot treatment.

i also am a HUGE fan of acne home remedies.

sooo here we go...

if you have a stubborn pimple get some aspirin (non coated. i would stick with the regular ASPIRIN brand if i were you.. $2)

at first, start out just using 2 of them... put them in the palm of your hand with a few drops of water. the water should dissolve the aspirin pretty much right away. then, apple it to the spot and let it dry. it's usually really crumbly, so some people add a bit of honey. people even use this as an exfoliator, or a mask. (if you tend to have dry skin, putting ORGANIC honey in with the aspirin works really well. and if your skin tends to be oily cucumber juice with aspirin works awesome!)

another one is ORGANIC apple cider vinegar (i use braggs) i know this sounds really gross, but trust me!! it balances the pH levels of your skin and really brightens your complexion. also, it is very acidic so it fights bacteria like crazy! I actually read about it on acne. org and got some great info. i have been drinking it for two weeks now and havent had a breakout since. mix about two tspns into a glass of water.

p.s.- when using the aspirin dont use anymore than 4 in my opinion, because aspirin can go through your skin into your bloodstream just as if you were taking it normally. for some people this causes them to feel ill or dizzy.

hope this helps :) good luck!
a love using a oatmeal mask. crush up oatmeal then add water and crush a bit more until its pasty/liquid. then apply and when dry remove with a hot wash cloth.

also try physicians formula makeup its for acne prone skin and has helped my skin out a lot.
When you wash with a normal bar of soap, add a teaspoon of brown sugar into the mix.

Scrub gently and rinse for a glowing face!

Apply moisturizer that's meant for your face, so you don't get any breakouts!

Good luck!

Hope your find your answer.

(:

Much love;

Roxie
